I Lost Control at Lizard’s Liquid Lounge

ILC returns to Lizard’s this weekend (August 8, 2009) for a late summer gig. We’ve been busy in the new rehearsal space painting, decorating, and sound deadening, but more importantly, working up some brand new tunes. We’re hoping to debut at least two of them for you! Don’t miss it!

Our good friend, Finn Swingley will be on hand to open with a stripped down version of Evening Bells.  Don’t miss them either!

Lizard’s is located at 3058 W Irving Park Rd. Music starts 9:30ish. No cover (but there’s a big a$$ed tip jar).

Goodbye Holidays…Hello bandmates! Let’s Rock!

Thank goodness the holidays are over. Jen’s back in town after visiting family down south, Toby and Grant are back in the Western Hemisphere again, and I’m…well…out of the holiday funk that befalls me around this time of year. Even the magic elixir of hot chocolate and butterscotch schnapps didn’t seem to pull my spirits up and getting them into holiday mode. But no matter, they’re over. At least through winter funk comes great art. Time for everyone to get back together and work up some new tunes!

I’m looking forward to our first rehearsal in quite a few weeks. It’s hard to believe that the last time we played together was at Lizard’s Liquid Lounge the day after Thanksgiving.  Seems like ages ago! We debuted a new song, “Lawless One”, and almost had another one ready to go, but agreed that “Rock Star” needed a little more work. What a fun time. We’re looking forward to playing there again soon.

I’m also looking forward to getting some new stuff ready for the Cal’s gig with the Vindits at the end of the month. Of course, we’re going to be at Silvie’s on February 20th with Open to Suggestion, Geneva Doomsday Machine and newcomer, Evening Bells as well. Hope to see y’all at one of these shows!

* UPDATE: Well, Mike at Cal’s went and booked another band, so we will not be appearing with the Vindits. (Mike, how could you do that to an old friend?) We’ll have to line something up in the Spring!
